Aspen Jensen-Track Star!

Last night was the all county track meet. Over 200 kids were there competing. Aspen raced the 50 yard, 200 meter and 400 meter. She placed in EVERY event. She got 3rd place in 2 of the events and 6th in the other. At other meets she has placed first and second. She did so well, we are so proud of her!! She is speedy thats for sure. She had many people there to support her, and we thank all of you who came and sat in the heat with us.

Bill had his camera, so once I get the pictures I will do another post with those.

She is amazing. We are so proud. She can't wait to get a Bulliten Board so she can hang up all her ribbons in her room.

WAY TO GO ASPEN!!!!!!

Pioneer Days

This morning we drove out to Tooele to an old Historic Mill that was having a Pioneer Day Celebration. The kids had so much fun! They churned butter, dipped candles, washed clothes, played Pioneer games and milked a "cow" Let me tell you, Kyson is a natural milker. It was hard, you had to do it just like you would a real cow. He would get constant streams of milk out, where the rest of us could only get small drips!

We had lunch and the girls bought new aprons. We put a bonnet on Kysons head, but he wasn't willing to pose for a picture and was laughing so hard he couldn't stand up!

We had lots of fun and Im glad we made the drive out there! We will be very busy over the next week, but hopefully we will have time to share pictures from our planned outings, like Bear Lake this Wednesday!

Hot Rockin' 4th of July

This year we had such a fun holiday!!! Growing up we would always do something at the celebration in Sandy, but now as an adult, I don't like going out there. It has gotten SO popular that you can barely walk through the crowds. So, most years we stay home til afternoon then go to my Mom's and swim. Thats fine and its fun, but the kids HATE waiting half the day before we go out.

For a bit of a change, we went to Grantsville with our friends the Critchlows. Their daughter Ashely is in Kyson and Aspens class, and is good friends with Aspen, so that was awesome for the girls! The parade was so much fun. My kids had never been to a parade, except as Sage pointed out, at Disney World. They had so much fun collecting candy and Frisbees and even Kosher Salt! They are already talking about next years parade.

Cute Tyler was so adorable going after the candy, and Kyson was very sweet to make sure that Tyler always got some candy. I cant believe I dont have a picture of Tyler!

One bonus to driving ALL the way out there is that we passed an old mill, and we are doing family pictures there next Wednesday. This coming Saturday they are having a Pioneer Days Festival where the kids get to do all sorts of hands-on activities, so we are looking forward to that!

After we left Grantsville, we headed to my Mom's house with some of our other friends, the Kirkhams. We swam (well, the kids did) and then we had a BBQ. Kristine, Joe and Zane headed over too after moving into their new, beautiful home in Lehi. We missed Jaden though!

Sage was in heaven because Jesi is her best friend, and she loved having her with us at Grandmas house. My Mom lives right by Murray Park, so after the BBQ we all just headed down to the pool to enjoy the fireworks. We all had so much fun, but by the time we got home the kids were beyond exhausted, and Kyson got out of the car, layed on the grass and went back to sleep!!!

It was an awesome holiday, and Im glad we were able to share it with so many friends and family.

Proud

I am proud of my kids. The Awards Assembly at school was this past week and Kyson was on honor roll all year long and got National presidential fitness.

Aspen was on honor roll all year and got Presidential level for presidential fitness.

They both worked so hard. I am so proud of them!!!

Oh, and Aspen kicked some serious butt at her track meet this week!!!!!

Because Im a slacker

And can't manage to finish blogging about our Disney trip, I will just add the rest of the pictures here, and a few tidbits.

Breakfast with Mary Poppins and Alice in Wonderland at the Grand Floridian. WOW what a hotel. Loved it. The food was good, and the service MUCH better than at Crystal Palace. We took the Monorail, and Farren and the kids got to sit up front with the driver. Very cool.

Clearwater beach- The kids had a BLAST and so did Farren......until he ripped open his foot in a cut that I KNOW needed stitches.

HollyWood Studios- We knbew ahead of time to get to Toy Story Mania first, that was a great ride. With farrens hurt foot, we only stayed a few hours, but we made sure to do Star Tours for Kyson. We also watched the Little Mermaid show which was really neat.

After that we went swimming at the hotel, where Kyson fell and cut open his leg. We met a nice couple from MA. and chatted with them for a few hours while the kids swam.

The next morning Daddy had to go back home and we were off to Epcot. That was awesome. Once again I am SO thankful for all teh research I did. The waits were very minimal. Because we were tired and took a mid day nap, we didnt get through the countries, but we did the rest. Test Track was awesome, even Sage liked it. There was a person doing writing in the sky (unassociated with Disney) so we wathed that for a while too.

This is made entirely from Sand.

Here is our favorite thing the Mousekeeper set up while we were gone, the kids thought this was HILARIOUS!

At Epcot the kids started their Pin trading collections, so the next day, at Magic Kingdom, most of the day was spent pin trading.

Last day we went back to Hollywood Studios for a few hours before we had to catch our flight. Kysons dream was to be chosen to do Jedi training. So, we camped out and guess what? he got picked. And so did both girls!!! This was the highlight of Kysons time at Disney.
Once back at the hotel, we boared the bus. Sage looks out the window and says Goodbye Hotel, Goodbye Disney World, and burst into tears. It was so sad!
